Has Apple gone PIMP??

Speculation this may be, but has anyone come across the adult "iPod porn" site "my-mojo.com" - excuse the pun.

Nothing new in the fact that they sell "iPod porn" downloads - but when you make a purchase your credit card statement shows your money is taken by 'Apple Holdings' !?!

Got me wondering - has Apple started selling porn? Will be a few "iPod porn" companies quaking at the thought I bet.

Encoding For iPod

Okay so we all want our video content on our iPods, but damn can it be a slow and exacting process using the Quicktime Pro ‘Export to iPod’ setting. It is without a doubt, this default setting provides excellent results with both video and sound. But it is the encoding process within this setting that seriously slows down export.

I’ve done some monotonous experimenting and fine tuning with QuickTime, Final Cut Pro and Compressor, to find a less time consuming way to export video files. I feel I have what is not just a considerably faster way, but also gives pretty much comparable quality to the Quicktime default setting. Another bonus is the final file sizes are somewhat smaller, allowing you to squeeze just that bit more on your iPod.

Please follow the instructions below to emulate my settings.

In the QuickTime Pro, select Export > Movie to MPEG-4.
You will find the file format default setting is set to MP4 (ISMA), change this to MP4. This allows you then to select the H.264 codec.
Set the data rate set to 512 kbits, Image size to 320x240 QVGA and the frame rate to 29.97.
You should then click the video options below, check both main and baseline and check faster encode (single pass), this will again improve the render speed.

Voila – export and enjoy!
